We are looking for a highly entrepreneurial, growth minded CEO, with internet marketing experience to bring our company to the next level. Our revenue has grown 10X over the last year, and we have a clear strategy in place to 10X our revenue again, which would make us one of the biggest players in our Category. Your job as the CEO is to execute that strategy. After the initial introduction phase you will have full authority over the business and lead all aspects of the company as if you owned it.

 

The company was founded 5 years ago by two British entrepreneurs. We are selling mostly directly to Pet Owners, online, That's why internet marketing experience is required for this position. We are highly Specialized in one lucrative niche of the pet industry, where we are gaining more and more market share.  We can see a clear path to becoming the dominant company in this niche, worldwide, and it is your job to execute that strategy.  You will launch new products, expand into new markets, hire key employees, set up partnerships and many other things. The strategy for the next 12 to 18 months is quite clear, but after that it will be mostly up to you to lead the direction of the company.
The board is very competent and passionate about the business, but they are happy to interfere very little, and let you as the CEO take charge.

Job qualifications

The most difficult part of your job will be to introduce new, successful products. We have a rough vision for those future products, and the founders who developed the initial successful products can mentor you during this process, but you must have some combination of internet marketing, sales and copywriting skills, to test different product ideas, and create highly effective sales pages and sales videos. One of the founders is very skilled and knowledgeable in this field, and is willing to mentor you, but you should have a strong affinity for this, and ideally a successful track record.

 

The question is this: can you come up with a product, create a sales page for it, buy website traffic, and get people to buy the product? That's what it comes down to. Since we have very few products, all the sales and marketing material should be written by you as the CEO. Your number one job is to sell, and more importantly to conduct experiments to find out what sells, and which marketing channels work betters than others etc. You must be able to understand the market needs, and tailor products, and sales and marketing material for those needs.

 

When it comes to operations you need to have a "systems&engineering" mindset. You need to be the kind of person that thinks at a systematic level, instead of running around and putting out fires. You need to be the kind of person that constantly thinks, how can this process be improved or eliminated? How can we use a software tool to replace this repetitive human task? How can we make this process more reliable to make sure we never disappoint a customer? These are the kind of thoughts you need to have every day. Without this kind of thinking, the natural consequence of massive growth is chaos. You need to proactively create and improve systems to tame the chaos and create a highly reliable machine that never lets down our customers or partners.

 

So to summarise, you need to be a promoter who aggressively introduces new products and marketing channels, but at the same time, you need to be obsessed with customer satisfaction and building reliable systems and teams to make sure we never let down our customers or partners.
